HOW WILL YOU STOP TEXTING & DRIVING?

Out of sight, out of mind.
- When you're in the car, put your phone where you can't get it. A place where you won't even be tempted to look for it. No phone. No texting.

Silence is golden.
- Turn those notifications off. The less you hear your phone, the less tempted you'll be to respond while you're driving.

Hang up or pay up

personally i dont text and drive or even talk and drive,if my phone goes off i wait till im in a place where i can safely pull off and check it and i dont mean the side of the road i will find a store or any business and do what i need to do,but i have also been harrassed by cops for being suspicious.even though i have nothing to hide i feel like im being punished for doing the right thing.so that said i think cops should leave you alone if its clear your on the phone as its much safer than texting and driving, just my opinion
Texting whilst driving will lead to receiving an unpleasant text that may chang your mood and eventually lead to accident.

Drivers caught texting should have to pay heavy fines -- none of this $20-50 stuff. Three fines (each a higher amount), three strikes. After that, revoke their license for a set period of time.

Phoneguard offers a very good product to stop texting and driving, I use it on my phone and my kids' phone's.
use common technology the car won't start unless the phone is clipped into a device away from the driver
There should be a devise in the automobile that disables the texting feature when the car is in motion or for that matter, the texting feature on a phone should only operable when there is no motion. This would prevent texters from walking into traffic.
texing can wait it is not an emergency nothing is more important that life
make a law that says driving and texting will be the equivelent of drinking and driving.........that will end it real quick
disenable texting if a vehicle is in motion - all phones have a GPS so it knows when it is moving.
When getting in the vehicle, just power it down til you get to your destination. No message is worth dying for.
I honestly think what it is gonna have to come down to is the car industry is gonna have to make cars that say if the car is moving at a certain speed that if the driver was to attempt to talk or text that the sensor in the car wouls scramble it that you could not make a call out of recieve any calls .The only number that would be permitted is 911 .Just a thought .I hope that something id done very soon ,it is out of control and too many people are dying .
leave your phone on vibrate or leave it at home
When you're driving, and you are in a situation where you can't ignore the phone, as soon as possible get your car out to the safe place from the street very carefully, and make sure that you are not at the way of another people.
If possible, pull car over to answer text.
Turn phone off
As Part Of My Text/ Email And Voice Mail Signatures, I Use 'REMEMBER; PLEASE DONT TEXT AND DRIVE!'
Power down. Shut off you cell phone. You wont need it while you are driving.
I have added an anti-text app to my smartphone called "Phoneguard" which locks my phone as soon as my vehicle exceeds 10 mph. I beleive it's a great solution to a societal behaviour issue of texting and driving.
hide your phone in the glovebox and lock the glovebox that way you are not able to reach it
PUT YOUR PHONE ON THE BACK SEAT
If police officers, utility workers, etc continue to use a cellphone in public view... How do we expect to cease this terrible habit. I was taught at an early age the importance of driving responsibility, isnt it time for drivers ed,etc to be used again.
There is actually this type of ring you can buy for your thumb, so if you ever go to text there is a reminder on the ring saying "txtingkills" and maybe you will second guess your desision
Have an app that you can turn on when you get in the car. When you receive a text or call, an automatic reply will be sent to say "Driving, get back to you when I can." Same concept as when someone is out of office.
A "2 Hands on the Wheel" campaign would help stop texting and lots of other foolish things people do while driving. Of course it couldn't be legislated because there are standard shift cars. But it might make people think about their driving habits.
I only have one solution. Dont text and dont answer a call. Its your decison if you pick up the phone or not and its your decision to put yourself at risk and others to.
Leave your phone at home
put your phone in your purse
Turn your phone completely off.
your life is more important than a text
turn your phone to vibrate or it off so you can't hear it.
put your cell phone out of reach or give it to a passenger
I have a suggestion. Get a slogan, like "buckle up." I actually don't know what the slogan would be, but it would result in people taking the cell out of their pockets and out of their purses and putting it in the back seat of the car before they get into the car. Something like "put it in the back." That way, they won't be tempted to answer a text or answer the phone and if they want to do so, they'd have to stop the car and get out.
next stop is soon enough to return a text.
Disable in cars!
Don't text and drive, not worth it...
The only thing I do know is that when We compromise the law, we ultimately lose. There is Law that mandates in some states No Texting While Driving. How many more lives need to be lost before that Law is mandated in every state in the US.. Grandmother in Texas
Make cell phones illegal in cars nationwide with stiff penalties $500 fine and confiscate phone.
Adding a feature in all vehicles that render using a cell phone impossible while the car is in use.
Turn your phone off, and keep them off. Unless its a real emergency should phones be used.
Write, phone, even text (while NOT driving) your local or state politicos repeatedly stating you want a law against texting while driving!
STOP AND TALK...
Can you drive with your eyes closed? Texting and driving is the same thing.
Tell the people you are talking to to text you later. If they care about you, they will not get mad.
If everyone would turn there phones off when they get into the car then it would not tempt them to text. And would save lives maybe there own
Less Distractions = Less Accidents
We could just shut our cell phones off so that we do not get any calls or texts when we are driving on the road, therefore, preventing car accidents that happen from texting and driving. We would be saving thousands of millions of lives just by shuttiing off our cell phones to prevent any distraction while on the road. Recent reports say that a person texting while driving is more likely to crash than that of a drunk driver.
Just an idea to get teens on board and spreading the word. Create "designated texter" shirt that would be cute for both girls and guys to wear.

Give your cell phone to another when driving.
Turn it off
do what i do and put your phone somewhere out of reach where u cant see it or hear it dont think about it
Leave phone in purse or other out-of-sight or out-of-reach place when driving. The phone is for emergencies, but has become a past-time and addiction. It takes a bit of self-discipline and putting life and well-being ahead of the desire to be in constant contact. THINK!
we need a group of teenagers going all around the state of west virgina and other states and go to all the schools and maybe us as teens talking to other teens maybe they willl listen
All vehicles should have a device installed that disables the use of texting features on cell phones. It should be activated once you step into the car!
Before you start driving text the person who is texting you and tell them that you cannot text while driving and to please not text you ubtil you text and tell them you have parked and can now text
install a phone block under hood, so text/ phone can be monitored r switch off. cannot be used, while driving.... for teen agers mostly!
have all vehicles equipped with a device that automatically disables all cell phones if the vehicle is on drive.
Simple. Have the cell phone makers activate a GPS unit in ALL phones. Much like your car NAV units, when the GPS in the phone senses the phone moving faster than 10 MPH it SHUTS OFF THE PHONE!. Simple.
Gps technology should be associated with phone texting functions that prohibit the phone texting while in motion. This would be no different than the current restriction to the people that have built in navigation in their vehicles. Some functions will not work if the vehicle is in motion
Turn you phone off while driving.
Mandatory motion detection in the cell phone that will disable the texting and emailing options. This would force people to pay attention to the road or even walking.
If the text is that important, wait until you can safely pull over to the side of the road or when you are at a red light to safely text. Then continue to drive after you have finished.
pull over on the side of the road or pull in to a gas station to check your phone
Have a friend text for you! if your friends in the car let them worry about your phone.
I just cancelled my texting package period. It was a little hard at first, but back use to it after a couple of weeks. Now its great, real human voices again... :) and less of a headache.
I have a DTF...designated texting friend
We can put our phones in silent in a car so the rings or vibrations dont distract the driver.
tell siri what to type
There is an application for Android called WiseText developed by Wise Bytes that allows interactive texting using voice only. No distractions. There is also a link to a demo of its usage on YouTube from the Wise Bytes website.
Put your phone in the backseat and leave it there.
Anyone with a child old enough to drive or ride around with friends should really support this page!!!
it safer to turn ur phone to vi.brate and if it rings first pull over before u answer
Ooops! Text-driving is dangerous! So stay clear of it.
i dont text at all
Fines, take away license and huge fine if caught under these circumstances due to texting and driving. All of our lives are at risk due to this habit.....
keep it at home. if it is at home it cant be used...
crazy idea.. No one realizes really how bad texting is,, what if a pilot of a large airplane was texting and instead of landing on the runway he was landing on a highway that looks simular.. texting is bad all the way when your operating anything, heavy equipment, cranes and more, not just driving..Its a major distraction to what your doing..
Use blue tooth talk to text app
have a freind who's in the car next to you tell you what the message is and what they could text for you. so you are not destracted from the road.
turn your phone completely off
Just put your phone away while you are driving, until you get where you are going. Just put it away.
make every call you need to make befre you get on the road.
Ignore the messages Don,t look to any message while driving a car.
JUST DRIVE

Put your phone in the glove compartment every time you are driving so you will not be tempted to text, but your phone is still available if you need it.
I had an idea for an app on smart phones; use the accelerometer in a smartphone to determine that if the phone is traveling at more then 10mph to go to airplane mode or delay the buzz and sound of the text until the phone has reached the required speed. this could save many people from driving head on into open traffic.
My new years resolution, stop the text while driving! It is just as good as all the health ones out there!
I put my phone behind my back, almost under my butt. I also put it on silent. Also theres only oneeasy way to get to it.... when you get out.
I will keep my phone out of reach but if i know i am gettig an important text or call will pull over before I answer
90% of the people that text could have a accident than the ones that dont BE SMART TEXT LATER DRIVE KNOW
If cell phones had the choice before txting of either
God after seeing that commercial I am locking it in the driver console!
- Dont txt , be smart
pull over to take call/text bsck...or ignore the call.
Turn phone off while driving!
Eliminate the text feature when the phones gps senses speed in excess of 5 mph.
Use phoneguard it can help save lives
Have someone else text for you if you are driving.
Use bluetooth or voice guide.
put your phone in your purse.
Turn your phone off that will help you prevent hearing anything that work in your phone.
just dont text its not worth it.
Since most phones are able to use GPS and or cell tower signals to calculate speed. Phones should be set up to disable functions when phone is traveling faster than say 5mph.
I silence my cell phone and put it in my brief case making it out of sight and out of mind!
i think that if there was a phone setting that when you get into your car, you could set it as
i will leave my phone in my purse. So im not tempted to use it!
Of course by now many states have laws against such distracted driving and I am fundamentally ok with compliance if not draconian. Other

Tell some else in the car to text for you
If you have to text stop the car in a place that you can stop, not in a place where you cant.
Designate Driver has become common lingo. In my car, it is a designated texter. And if I am alone, I will just ignore my phone. It is the perfect space to have time to think
make your friend in the passenger seat text for you!
stop the texts. stop the wrecks.
I will not text friends when I know they are driving
Turn your phoe off while driving , simple as that . Nobody needs to die because you have to text your boyfriend. If the text is that important, the sender can simply call you, and every phone has a speaker phone these days, so use that speaker phone, NOT the keyboard.
Take a pledge to stop texting for a single day.
I will use bluetooth
I will lock my phone in the trunk.
I will wait until I get there to check my phone.
I will report a texting driver to the police.
I will silence my phone before I get in the car.
I will keep my phone out of reach.

To stop this dangerous behavior, the Ad Council collaborated with the office of the State Attorneys General and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to create a Texting and Driving Prevention campaign. The campaign targets young adult drivers and aims to show them the consequences of this seemingly benign behavior. The campaign features Public Service Advertising (PSAs) in TV, radio, outdoor and web, as well as integrated digital and social media platforms. All advertising drives consumers to StopTextsStopsWrecks.org where consumers can find tips and tactics for how to curb this behavior.

As chief legal officers of the states, commonwealths, and territories of the United States, the Attorneys General serve as counselors to state government agencies and legislatures, and as representatives of the public interest. It is often said that Attorneys General occupy the intersection of law and public policy, dealing in areas as diverse as child support enforcement, drug policy, and environmental protection.

NATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR YOUTH SAFETY (NOYS) is a collaboration of close to 40 national, youth- serving organizations, including non-profit organizations and government agencies, with the common goal of promoting safe and healthy behaviors among our nation's youth. The coalition meets in a round table forum approximately 2-3 times per year.

JUST DRIVE
680
Other
I am learning because I was in my city driving and for not looking on the road I got into a wreck and I hope people learn from me and others who been involved in wrecks
Software can be installed for your phone where all you have to do is speak what you want to text and the message will be sent for you.
get somebody to do it for you..
put yo phone in yos trunk
phoneguard and justin bieber with alex brown foundation
u could have some one type it for u or hide it were u cnat see it! :)
